IEPL routes typically place key sections of cross-border transmission on a more controlled transport path before reaching websites or applications through an exit in the destination region. Compared with paths that rely entirely on the public internet, IEPL emphasizes consistency and suits sustained transfers, remote meetings, development collaboration, file synchronization, and long-lived sessions.
These routes generally cost more to build and maintain than ordinary direct routes, making them better suited to tasks where connection stability comes first. The exit region still needs to match the destination service: choose a Japan endpoint for Japanese content and compare North American endpoints for services in that region. The closest region is not always the best fit.
